About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Medicines Management Lead. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of medicines management strategies to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address medicines-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medicines management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.

Person Specification
  • 1st Level Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC Register
  • Recognised mentorship qualification and experience as a Sign Off mentor
  • Degree or working towards
  • Completion of appropriate specialty Course
  • Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice.
  • Extensive experience in specialty to include considerable experience at Band 6 level
  • Evidence of clinical leadership ability
  • Proven management experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of utilising evidence in practice
  • Logical and consistent career pattern
  • Expert clinical skills
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver agreed objectives
  • Ability to work flexible hours and fulfil service requirements
