Exciting Opportunity for a Ward Leader

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Ward Leader. This is a part-time, 23 hours per week, permanent role on ward C5, a 14-bedded purpose-built infectious diseases unit.

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about the specialities within Medicine and can work collaboratively to ensure quality and safety is maintained. As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve your career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing leadership and work with the Matron to enhance nursing practice and strategy
  • Manage the department and be responsible for ensuring 24-hour cover for the service
  • Facilitate evidence-based care and act as a clinical expert at ward level
  • Support and implement changes to clinical practice in the area
What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong focus on patient care, proven leadership skills, and the ability to work inter-professionally across boundaries. Evidence of your ability to create an effective learning environment is essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills and support junior colleagues in their development.
