We are seeking an experienced Support Specialist and Safeguarding Lead to join our team in Quidenham, Norwich.
Salary: £31,000 - £40,000 per year, dependent on experience
Job DescriptionThis role is crucial in supporting the teaching staff and ensuring the well-being of our students. As a Support Specialist and Safeguarding Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with teachers to develop strategies for students with communication and associated difficulties or specific learning difficulties.
- Implementing and leading the Early Help Process across the school to safeguard and protect children, young people, and staff.
- Overseeing and enforcing the attendance policy, working with individual students and their families to address attendance issues.
- Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with safeguarding caseload management and receiving referrals via the school's safeguarding system.
- Liaising with the Anti-Bullying Quality Mark team to upload evidence and support behavior management within the school.
You will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of Eccles when required.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you must possess:
- A GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
- A relevant professional qualification or the ability to gain L3 in working with children and young people.
- Demonstrable experience of working with children with autism/SEND, understanding of Safeguarding principles, and Child Protection.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively with other employees and professionals.
