About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team at The Aurora Group. As a key member of our staff, you will provide essential support to our students with their learning and care whilst in school and other settings.

As an Education Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver personalized learning plans, supporting pupils with their daily routines, transitions, and positive behaviour management. Your role will be crucial in creating a warm, caring, and supportive environment that enables our students to feel safe and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a strong rapport with pupils to ensure they feel supported and encouraged throughout their time at school.
  • Promote independence and personal development in pupils, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
  • Contribute to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Support the Class Teacher in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the class.
  • Respond to the varying needs of the school, adapting to any task presented to achieve the smooth operation of the school.
  • Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
  • Level 2-3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures is necessary.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEMH, ASD are preferred.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £18.00 - £20.00 per hour, dependent on experience, plus % holiday pay. We offer a range of benefits, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities, a comprehensive induction programme, and a supportive team environment.
