About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Aurora Eccles School in Quidenham, Norwich. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a positive and supportive relationship with students, promoting their emotional and social well-being.
  • Support the teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, adapting activities to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to actively engage with their social and academic environment.
  • Collaborate with the therapy teams to develop and implement effective strategies to support students with SEMH, ASD, and other needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular updates to the teaching team and parents.

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Level 2 - 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards).
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEMH, ASD.
