Job Summary
The Aurora Group is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team at Aurora Eccles School in Quidenham, Norwich. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia.

You will work closely with the teacher and therapy teams to create an enabling environment, supporting students to actively engage with their social and academic environment.
Responsibilities
- To establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils, ensuring they feel safe and empowered to learn during their time at the school.
- To promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
- To contribute to providing high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum, aiming for pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning.
- To support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class.
- To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school, adapting to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
- To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
- To demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Level 2-3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards).
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Knowledge and experience of pupils with SEMH, ASD.

Location and Salary
Aurora Eccles School is located in Quidenham, Norwich, NR 2NZ. The salary for this role is approximately £20,000-£25,000 per annum, dependent on experience, with an hourly rate of £10-£12.50 per hour.
