Education Assistant for SEN Students

Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team at an independent SEN school in Thetford, Norfolk. As a support worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic and emotional well-being of our students with special needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), social emotional and mental health (SEMH), speech language and communication needs (SLCN), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), epilepsy, dyslexia, and other complex needs.
This is a full-time position based in an independent SEN school boasting incredible facilities, including forest schools, archery, horticultural learning, animal care, and a state-of-the-art science lab.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized support to students with special needs in a classroom setting
- Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementation
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working with children with special needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
£28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
