About the Role

At Hillcrest Futures, we are seeking a dedicated Homelessness Support Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness.

About the Service

We provide 24-hour supported accommodation for people who are homeless, with two services located in Edinburgh. Our team offers a wide range of support services, including assistance with daily living skills and mental health support.

What You Will Do
  • Work as part of a rota to ensure that our service users receive consistent and high-quality support.
  • Develop positive relationships with service users, understanding their individual needs and goals.
  • Assist service users with daily living tasks, such as cooking and cleaning, and encourage them to develop independent living skills.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to service users, helping them to address any mental health issues or low self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team to ensure that service users receive comprehensive support.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A confident and assertive approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • An understanding of the complexities of homelessness and the importance of providing sensitive and non-judgmental support.
