Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Improvement Project Lead to join East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of new projects, playing a pivotal role in managing new projects as part of the development of the SVOC following the national vaccination strategy.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and organisation of a range of specific improvement projects in line with the agreed programme plan.
  • Support and contribute to the service delivery plans.
  • Analyse and interpret data for forecasting service trends/ highlighting issues / risks to support decision making.
  • Monitor citizen experience and ensure this is feedback as part of ongoing service development and considered for any future service plans/models.
  • Co-ordinate and contribute to internal and external service evaluations.
  • Actively participate in relevant working groups and provide project advice and support where requested.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
  • Support the senior leadership team to identify service improvement needs and opportunities across the service and prioritise improvement activities; facilitate discussions around changes required to deliver improvements.
  • Responsible for recording into and maintaining appropriate information systems relevant to the overall Programme and specific improvement projects.
  • Support senior leads in the implementation of quality improvement projects, through the development of guidance and tools for teams and their roll out or by taking project lead on a specific aspect/workstream of the project.
  • To provide comprehensive project management to projects/workstreams and other associated sub-groups, including attending meetings, developing work plans, and ensuring appropriate performance management mechanisms are implemented.
  • To manage and prioritise a diverse workload efficiently and effectively to provide a comprehensive, high-quality service.
  • Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process for any service changes.
  • Establishing the tracking of progress against plans and transition milestones, ensuring appropriate processes are in place to flag issues, risks, and concerns with the relevant stakeholders utilising project management methodology.
  • To deal with any unforeseen elements of the programme that require attention and support from the Head of Operations, as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
