Tax Manager Deputy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Taxation Deputy Head to join our team at Munich Re. As a key member of our tax function, you will play a critical role in managing our tax reporting and compliance activities, ensuring that we meet all regulatory requirements and maintain a strong reputation with HMRC.
About the RoleThe Deputy Head of Taxation will be responsible for:
- Managing the UK tax team and deputising for the UK tax manager
- Leading on corporation tax reporting matters, including IFRS, UK GAAP, and Solvency II
- Overseeing tax reporting for several key re/insurance entities and service companies
- Providing a key interface between the UK tax team and Group Tax in Munich
- Advising on UK tax matters and managing advisers on projects and ad hoc work
- Developing talent and building capability within the team
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualified tax accountant or similar education
- Post-qualification experience of working in an in-house tax team, with responsibility for IFRS and UK GAAP tax accounting
- Ability to communicate clearly to both tax specialists and non-tax specialists alike
- People/team management experience
- Basic knowledge of UK corporation tax and a keenness to develop a sound knowledge of UK VAT and IPT principles
