About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Specialist to join our team in Derby, Wolverhampton, or Widnes. As a key member of our Services Engineering business, you will be responsible for specifying and leading engineering studies to deliver train functions and associated subsystems at train level.
This permanent role offers significant potential for career growth and the opportunity to work on a wide variety of legacy fleets and electrical systems. You will collaborate with transverse teams and colleagues to take ownership of work packages and ensure their successful conclusion to time and budget expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- To specify one or several train functions and associated sub-system(s) at train level and lead technically the engineering studies to reach the required performances at train level.
- To take ownership of work packages to deliver a technical solution with all supporting documentation.
- Primary outputs include modification instructions, overhaul instructions, Customer reports, Bills of Material, Risk Assessments, Standards checks.
About You
We value passion and attitude over experience. This role would suit a mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer with suitable rolling stock experience and excellent written and spoken English & Communication skills.
