Specialist Pharmacist - Women's and Children's Services

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated pharmacist to join our Women's and Children's Pharmacy Team.

The ideal candidate will have a background in clinical pharmacy and be able to provide a top-tier clinical service to the Women's and Children's directorate.

The role offers the opportunity to work across Women's and Child Health, including neonatology, general paediatrics, maternity, and gynaecology.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the evening and weekend working services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Women and Children's.
  • Act as a specialist role model and an expert in the medical management within paediatric, maternity and gynae patients.
  • Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist.
  • Ensure a high level of clinical pharmacy input to the care of patients, providing interface and discharge liaison and support.
Key Requirements
  • MPharm Degree and Registered Pharmacist.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete.
  • Member of the RPS faculty.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy and be able to demonstrate advanced practice using evidence mapped to the RPS Advanced Practice Framework.

They will also have experience of protocol/guideline development and be able to lead, coach and manage the performance of junior staff.

The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King's College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in the London Borough of Bromley.
