Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical data validation prior to result reporting and select suitable blood and blood products
- Use specialist knowledge across procedures, authorise test results, and initiate further tests as necessary
- Ensure data integrity and enter demographics and results into the laboratory information system
- Support operational functionality of laboratory areas, including calibration and maintenance of complex equipment

Person Specification
- Qualified as an experienced State Registered Biomedical Scientist with HCPC registration and CPD
- Significant experience of modern laboratory techniques and good knowledge of current professional issues
- Awareness of hazards and dangers, with correct protocol for emergency situations and remedial action for uncontained materials
- Understanding of IQA and external quality control systems, data processing, and management
