Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in laboratory techniques and a good understanding of current professional issues.

Main Responsibilities

The Specialist Biomedical Scientist will be responsible for performing a comprehensive range of routine and specialist haematology and transfusion analyses. This will include assessing the suitability and appropriateness of samples received, liaising with medical staff as appropriate, and ensuring satisfactory completion and validation of routine and specialist haematology and transfusion analyses.

Key Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a post-graduate diploma level knowledge of specialist Haematology and Transfusion procedures, acquired through CPD, short courses, and ongoing specialist training. They will also have good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to supervise and train others, and be computer literate.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently at large, offsite, outpatient clinics, providing POCT at a satellite laboratory, and will be expected to participate in developmental work, performing specialised tests when necessary.
