Role Description

We are seeking a computational applied mathematician to develop a fundamental understanding of transition and ensuing turbulent mixing in stratified shear flows. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Colm-cille Caulfield and Professor Rich Kerswell at the University of Cambridge.

The role involves conducting numerical simulations, analysing results using recent developments in applied mathematics, including generalised stability theory and dynamical systems theory.

  • Conducting numerical simulations and analysing results

  • Building internal contacts
Essential Qualifications

A PhD in mathematics or a closely related area is required. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, as well as experience in numerical simulations.

This is a fixed-term position. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates.

Annual Salary Range:

£55,000 - £75,000, depending on experience.
