Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at the Education Authority. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on employee relations policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Management of staff and/or specialized areas within the functional areas of Employee Relations, People Services, Resourcing, Pay, Policy and Conditions/Teaching Services, and HR Business Unit.
  • Provide professional support services to managers on relevant employee relations policies and procedures, including discipline, grievance, capability, appraisal, and dignity at work.
  • Lead and manage teams providing first-line response to queries from non-teaching staff, management of OH referrals, return to work meetings, medical suspension or redeployment, and associated work with the Equality Unit.
  • Manage delivery of recruitment exercises, resolve service requests/queries/escalations, lead, train, and develop direct reports, and implement performance management activities.
  • Support work for HR staff involved in Industrial Relations machinery, provide training and guidance to colleagues, contribute to HR and Corporate Strategy, and review, revise, and develop existing and new policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably in an education setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with employment law and regulatory requirements.
