About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a skilled Crisis Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in South Glasgow. As a Crisis Practitioner, you will provide support to individuals with complex mental health needs who present in 'crisis' and require intensive mental health care and treatment at home as an alternative to hospital admission.

You will work closely with inpatient services to facilitate early discharge from hospital and participate in formal line management supervision. Your role will involve ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, while liaising with and updating multiple stakeholders – GPs, CMHT, MHAU, Specialist Services, and 3rd sector organisations.

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are motivated to have a positive impact on our patients' lives while demonstrating an ability and aptitude to work effectively as both an individual and as part of a team. Being an effective and responsive communicator within the multi-disciplinary team and across multiple stakeholders is essential to the role.

Applicants should have meaningful post-registration experience and be able to demonstrate experience of managing significant risk within the field of mental health. The post holder will be required to operate within the legal and ethical national frameworks, while adhering to local, national, and organisational policies and guidance relating to professional conduct, practice, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to individuals with complex mental health needs
