HC-One Scotland is developing a Specialist Dementia Care Community at Darnley Court care home. This new community will provide a bespoke living environment with space and calming de-escalation rooms, along with enhanced staffing and specialist training for colleagues in positive approaches to behaviour, psychosocial therapies, de-escalation interventions, and safe restrictive practices.

The Dementia Nurse Practitioner will support, deliver, and coordinate person-centred dementia care and therapeutic interventions in a purpose-designed residential setting to improve clinical outcomes for those living with complex dementia presentations. An active NMC Pin and minimum of 2 years practice experience in a dementia care community are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evidence of delivering person-centred care and care for people with dementia who present with complex needs, distress, and behaviours that challenge.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Experience of providing general nursing and bio-psychosocial interventions.
  • Knowledge of relevant current dementia policies and guidance.
  • Post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia.
  • Experience of completing holistic nursing assessments.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality of care.
