Advanced Interventional Radiology Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Interventional Radiology Nurse Specialist to join our team at NHS Scotland.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. This includes developing individualised care plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing pre, intra, and post-procedure care.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a team player, and have a desire to go above and beyond for our patients. They will also have experience working in an IR department, with knowledge of local safety rules, protective clothing, and equipment. Additionally, they will be able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and maintain accurate records.
This is a rotational post across IR departments within Glasgow, with a contractual requirement to participate in the Glasgow-wide OOH on-call service. The shift pattern is 5/7 with a late finish, and flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
- Develop individualised care plans and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide pre, intra, and post-procedure care, including administering IV sedation to patients as required
- Work alongside interventional radiologists as 'scrub nurse' during invasive radiological procedures
- Be flexible and adaptable, particularly when covering late finishes and participating in the OOH on-call service
- Take ownership of stock management and ensure infection prevention policies are adhered to
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained, adhering to local safety rules and regulations
NHS Scotland offers a competitive salary range of £36,930 - £48,879 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive induction programme, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive learning environment.
