About the Role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our multidisciplinary team as a Senior Crisis Practitioner. This is a full-time permanent position that requires a Registered Nurse in Mental Health or a Registered Occupational Therapist with significant post-registration experience in the field of mental health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to individuals with complex mental health needs who present in 'crisis' and require intensive mental health care and treatment at home as an alternative to hospital admission.
  • Work closely with inpatient services to facilitate early discharge from hospital.
  • Carry out ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, while liaising with and updating multiple stakeholders – GPs, CMHT, MHAU, Specialist Services, and 3rd sector organisations.
  • Supervise the practice of junior members of staff and student nurses, evaluating their practice, and providing line management supervision and carrying out annual appraisals.

Requirements

  • Significant post-registration experience in the field of mental health.
  • Ability to manage significant risk within the field of mental health.
  • Valid NMC UK registration number (for Registered Nurses in Mental Health) or registration with the relevant professional body (for Registered Occupational Therapists).
  • PVG scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland check.
  • Current driving licence and use of a car.
