About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our multidisciplinary team as a Senior Crisis Practitioner. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of mental health care and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to individuals in crisis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to individuals with complex mental health needs, working closely with inpatient services to facilitate early discharge from hospital, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective care planning and coordination.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to individuals with complex mental health needs
  • Work closely with inpatient services to facilitate early discharge from hospital
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective care planning and coordination
  • Supervise the practice of junior members of staff and student nurses
  • Provide line management supervision and carry out annual appraisals
Requirements

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse in Mental Health or a Registered Occupational Therapist with significant post-registration experience in the field of mental health. They will also have a strong understanding of mental health care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
