Role Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Stay up-to-date with employment legislation and HR best practices, sharing knowledge with colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
- Advise and coach managers on performance, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE, and dispute resolution matters, ensuring adherence to company policy and employment law.
- Develop and maintain company policies and guidelines in line with best practice and current employment law regulations.
- Consult with employment lawyers for expert advice and guidance to mitigate risk and commercial exposure.
- Monitor employee relations activity, provide insights, and make recommendations based on findings.
- Create a focus on fleet management and support line managers and colleagues to minimize risk to personal safety.
- Be a custodian of company policies and 8 ways of working, demonstrating active commitment and adherence.
Stakeholder Management:
- Develop trusted and valued relationships with key stakeholders, including account managers, centre and field managers.
- Gain a good understanding of the business operation, its performance drivers, and metrics to tailor value-added initiatives.
- Collaborate with the HR/People Team on key people initiatives, including training design and delivery, talent attraction, and onboarding.
- Work in partnership with Payroll to maintain the integrity of people master data and ensure timely and accurate data transfers.
- Develop professional alliances with third-party vendors, including benefits providers, insurers, and fleet management companies.
- Deliver the HR/People strategy in collaboration with key HR stakeholders.
System Management:
- Maintain the relevant HRIS, including Cascade.
- Train and coach inexperienced users, compile user training material, and implement ad-hoc initiatives to close knowledge gaps.
- Adopt our ways of working to drive efficiency and effectiveness for the HR/People team and line managers, introducing processes that maintain data integrity.
- Undertake regular audits and introduce good governance where required.
Data and Reporting:
- Administer people-related information and data in a sensitive manner, safeguarding colleague confidentiality and maintaining data integrity.
- Generate timely reports and share data and insights with key stakeholders.
- Review data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on findings.
Projects:
- Critically review transactional work and operational processes, making recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Engage with and contribute to the successful delivery of colleague-related projects, including reward and benefits reviews, job evaluations, and data insights.
- Commit and contribute to the successful delivery of selected/allocated cross-functional projects and assignments.
Additional Requirements:
- Draft internal communication to inform, engage, and update colleagues, ensuring clear and culturally appropriate communication.
- Maintain knowledge of HR best practice and current trends.

Education / Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in a similar role with an employee relations focus.
- CIPD level 5 or working towards the qualification would be an advantage.
- Familiar with regulations and governance pertaining to employment law in the UK.
- Competent user of HRIS – Cascade would be an advantage.
