About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Town Planner to lead our Planning Department at Penguin Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing planning projects, building strong relationships with clients, and collaborating with our architectural team to deliver high-quality solutions.

Salary: Up to 31,200 per annum (pro-rata)

Job Description:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of planning applications across various sectors, including care homes, residential developments, industrial buildings, barn conversions, and permitted developments. You will also be responsible for ensuring all projects comply with planning regulations and are delivered within agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planning projects, working closely with directors and the architectural team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction
  • Collaborate closely with the architectural team to inform design and planning strategies
  • Lead and manage the planning department, providing guidance and support where necessary
  • Handle a variety of planning applications across different sectors

Requirements:

  • Degree in Planning or a related discipline
  • RTPI membership or working towards it
  • Strong client-facing skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
