Job Title: Head of SEN

Location: Alternative Education Community

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of SEN to join our innovative alternative education community. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our SEN department and ensuring that students with diverse needs receive the support and guidance they require to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SEN department to deliver high-quality education and support services to students
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to engage and motivate students with SEN
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student support
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to SEN

Requirements:

  • Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS)
  • Have a National Award for SEN Co-ordination / NPQ for SENCOs or be in the first 3 years of a SENCO role
  • Have proven experience working collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse and challenging needs
