Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Music Department, providing a vibrant and engaging learning experience for our students. As Head of Music Department, you will be responsible for shaping the musical journey of our students, while also providing pastoral support as a Head of Year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a vibrant music curriculum that caters to a diverse range of abilities and interests.
- Oversee the academic and personal progress of a year group, providing pastoral support and guidance.
- Lead and manage the music department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and deliver an inspiring curriculum that encourages students to achieve their full musical potential.
- Foster a love of music across the school, engaging students in a variety of musical genres and activities.
Requirements:
- A degree in Music or a related subject, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching music at Secondary level, with a proven track record of achieving positive student outcomes.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in a pastoral or head of year role being advantageous.
- A passion for music education and a commitment to promoting the arts within a school setting.
