Practice Administrator

Job Summary:
To provide an efficient and accurate process for managing patient prescription requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process medication requests from registered patients in line with practice protocols.
- Liaise with patients and pharmacies regarding queries and requests.
- Ensure medication is issued in accordance with protocols and address any queries promptly.
- Highlight patient queries on medication to the relevant GP.
- Assist the Pharmacy Technician with blood monitoring and audits processes.
- Support the pharmacy team in achieving practice targets for prescribing.
- Manage prescriptions that have not been collected, removing details from patient records and destroying the prescription.
- Action incoming 111 reports according to practice protocol.
- Maintain the housekeeping of incoming EMIS message and task inboxes to ensure timely resolution of messages and a clutter-free mailbox.
About the Role:
This role is part of the expanding prescriptions and administration team at Sandgate Road Surgery, a primary care provider serving approximately 13,000 patients in West Folkestone.
Requirements:
- Experience working in general practice or pharmacy is essential.
- Excellent organisational skills, highly developed time management skills, and the ability to multitask in a pressurised environment.
- IT literacy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills at all levels internally and externally.
- Exceptional team working ability.
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
- Desirable: Prescribing or pharmacy technician qualification.
