Role Overview

Hays Senior Finance is seeking a dedicated Senior Payroll Specialist to join our long-term client for a full-time, fixed-term position of 6 months. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the payroll processes during this time.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform daily payroll tasks, including backfilling roles to support team members during Testing and Parallel run phases.
  2. Monitor and manage the shared mailbox for payroll enquiries.
  3. Conduct complex calculations for Maternity Leave, Long-Term Sickness (LTS), Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), and employee departures.
  4. Oversee all ad hoc data, pension and benefit changes across a dozen payrolls, including one weekly payroll and two pensioner payrolls.
  5. Raise ad hoc advances and process third-party payments.
  6. Conduct system audits between HR and payroll systems.
  7. Complete month-end payroll controls before payroll release.
  8. Generate payroll reports at month-end.

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum.
