About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, including cost control, budgeting, and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure the best possible prices for our clients.
  • Subcontract Orders: Manage the procurement and administration of subcontract orders.
  • Valuations: Conduct regular valuations of project progress and ensure accurate payment to contractors.
  • Cost Value Reconciliation: Reconcile project costs with actual values to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Subcontracts Management: Manage the administration of subcontract agreements and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Variation: Manage and negotiate variations to contracts.
  • Final Accounts: Prepare and finalize project accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Benchmarking & Analysis: Conduct benchmarking and analysis of build costs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Cost Engineering: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce project costs.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree (or HNC) qualified Quantity Surveyor.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in a similar role.
  • Background: Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a Housebuilder or main contractor.
  • Skills: Demonstrable experience of overseeing sizeable schemes for a housebuilder or main contractor, experience in Contract/Quantity Surveying and construction budgets, and knowledge of construction techniques and mixed tenure schemes.

Package:

  • Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Basic (depending on experience) + Package.
  • Discretionary Bonus: Eligible for a discretionary bonus.
  • Progression: Opportunity to progress to Senior within 12 months.
