Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Team
£40,000 - £50,000 + Package
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team at TDM Recruitment. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that costs are controlled and budgets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Control and Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are accurately forecasted and controlled.
- Negotiation: Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure the best possible prices for our clients.
- Subcontract Orders: Manage the procurement of subcontractors and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place.
- Valuations: Conduct regular valuations of project costs to ensure that our clients are aware of any potential issues.
- Cost Value Reconciliation: Reconcile project costs with the original budget to identify any discrepancies.
- Subcontracts Management: Manage the administration of subcontractors, including payment and performance monitoring.
- Variation: Manage changes to project scope and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place.
- Final Accounts: Prepare and finalize project accounts, ensuring that all costs are accurately recorded.
- Benchmarking and Analysis of Build Costs: Analyze project costs to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
- Cost Engineering: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce project costs.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree (or HNC) qualified Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a Housebuilder or main contractor.
- Demonstrable Experience: Demonstrable experience of overseeing sizeable schemes for a housebuilder or main contractor.
- Knowledge: Experience in Contract/Quantity Surveying and construction budgets, with knowledge of all areas of construction techniques and mixed tenure schemes.
Package:
- Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Basic (depending on experience) + Package.
- Discretionary Bonus: Eligible for a discretionary bonus.
- Progression: Opportunity to progress to Senior within 12 months.
