Job Description

**Job Title:** Community Youth and Family Support Specialist

**Location:** Scotland - Central belt

**Job Type:** Permanent

**Salary:** £28,000 per annum

**Hours:** 37 hours per week (between 8am – 10pm, 5 days over 7)

**About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Youth and Family Support Specialist to join our team in Scotland. As a key member of our Response Team, you will work closely with children, young people, and families to provide support and guidance in times of need.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and deliver outcome-based support to young people and families.
  • Explore values and attitudes with young people in a supportive manner.
  • Ensure a focus on regular and appropriate case progression to help young people and families recognise progress.
  • Actively participate in the delivery of the Helpline evening and night service so support is available 24/7.
  • Support with crisis management and generate solutions for young people and families.
  • Build relationships with Local Authorities with varying demands and priorities.
  • Ensure support is delivered in line with organisations Policies Procedures, SSSC Codes of Practice & National Guidelines.

**Requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people and engaging vulnerable young people and families.
  • Experience of managing caseloads and influencing decision making.
  • Experience of responding to difficult circumstances where people may be in crisis or engaged in risk taking behaviour.
  • Able to provide emotional, practical and social support to young people and families.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to routinely evidence practice, including completion of formal reports.
  • Reliable and committed to deliver the relationship-based model of intervention.
