Overview

Dumfries and Galloway Council's Youth Work Service is offering an opportunity for adults to join a dynamic team of professionals as part of our Casual Staff.

We are recruiting casual youth workers to support the delivery of youth work groups, programmes, and events throughout the year, including holiday periods. This challenging and stimulating post is part of a wider team developing and supporting creative youth work activities across Dumfries and Galloway.

Key Details

  • Estimated salary: £15,000 - £20,000 per annum, based on 10 hours per week @ £15.52 per hour.
  • Work will involve evening and weekend shifts.
  • A current driving license is essential; consideration may be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

Job Description

This role involves working with young people aged 12-25 in an informal setting. We are looking for individuals with a wide range of skills and experience to support the delivery of youth work groups, programmes, and events. This includes outdoor education settings, sports, cookery, gaming, STEM, and music.

All training required will be provided. The ideal candidate should be motivated and interested in working with young people, with a focus on developing their creativity and participation across Dumfries and Galloway.

Requirements

  • Motivation and interest in working with young people aged 12-25.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
