About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding leadership position within our Children's Community Nursing Team. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing clinical and managerial leadership to our nursing and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to children and young people with complex health needs and disabilities.

You will work closely with the Head of Health Services to develop and implement strategies to improve organisational performance, and will be responsible for networking and building relationships with stakeholders across the education and health sectors.

The ideal candidate will have significant post-registration experience working with children and young people in a community setting, and will possess excellent clinical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing and support staff
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve organisational performance
  • Networking and building relationships with stakeholders across the education and health sectors
  • Managing a small caseload and providing clinical supervision and leadership
  • Supporting the selection and employment of staff within budget

Requirements:

  • Significant post-registration experience working with children and young people in a community setting
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of children's community nursing services
  • Experience of coaching and supporting staff and managing the performance of others
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload with minimal supervision
  • Extensive safeguarding knowledge and experience

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ BSC/ Post Graduate Diploma/ MSc Children's Nursing with current NMC registration
  • Management/ Leadership qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
