About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a skilled Community Children's Nurse within the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, providing high-quality care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

  • Main Duties:

    • To deliver individualised holistic care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families, promoting empowerment, advocacy, and partnership.
    • To supervise the child or young person in the absence of their parents or carers.
    • Communicate effectively with all of the Jessie May Care Team.
    • Promote evidenced-based practices, which are of benefit to the care of the children on the Jessie May caseload, in accordance with clinical governance guidelines.

Requirements

  • RSCN/RN (Child) or equivalent
  • Current NMC registration
  • Work towards relevant university accredited post basic study programmes or modules e.g. teaching and assessing course/palliative care module.
  • Able to advocate and empower vulnerable young children and their families.
  • Flexible and adaptable to challenging and complex changing environment.
