Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Children's Nursing Specialist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). As a member of our nursing staff, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and their families, providing high-quality care that meets their unique needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering holistic family-centered care to children, young people, and their families. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs of care for individual patients, as well as supervising other staff members in this activity.

You will also be expected to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other staff members, overcoming any barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events.

Main Duties
  1. To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, providing a high standard of care to patients and their families.
  2. To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programs of care for individual patients, and supervise other staff members in this activity.
  3. To communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other staff members, overcoming any barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events.
  4. To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff, following achievement of required competence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) registered Nurse or able to join the NMC child branch register for candidates educated outside of the UK.
  • Relevant nursing qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development linked to demonstrable competencies.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately £38,890 - £44,503 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
