Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a KS1 class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Communicate effectively with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the child's needs.
  • Establish a positive and supportive relationship with the child, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Assist with the child's daily routine, including managing their behavior and providing emotional support.
  • Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular updates to the class teacher and SENCo.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or other special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High level of patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
