We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of children with SEND and SEMH.
- Assist children with their academic and personal needs, providing one-to-one support and small group instruction as needed.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote learning and socialization.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers to keep them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of children and the school.
- Knowledge of phonics and SEND principles.
