Main Responsibilities:- To assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the year 2 pupil to whom you are assigned, enabling them to make the most of educational opportunities.
- To aid the pupil in learning effectively in group situations and individually, by setting up activities based on class teachers' planning, clarifying instructions, and ensuring the pupil can use equipment and materials provided.
- To motivate and encourage the pupil as required, providing individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks as appropriate to the pupil's needs.
- To assist in weaker areas, such as reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, and to use praise, commentary, and assistance to encourage the pupil to concentrate and stay on task.
- To liaise with the class teacher, SENDCO, and other professionals about the education, health, and care plan (EHCP), contributing to the planning and delivery of this as appropriate.
- To provide additional nurture opportunities to individuals when requested by the class teacher or SENDCO.
- To consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour management strategies.
- To help make appropriate resources to support the pupil.
