As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of children with SEND and SEMH.
  • Assist children with their academic and personal needs, providing one-to-one support and small group instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote learning and socialization.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to keep them informed about their child's progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of children and the school.
  • Knowledge of phonics and SEND principles.
