About the Role:

As a key member of the Govia Thameslink Railway team, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of our Brighton Depot. This role requires a strong leader who can provide guidance and direction to a team of approximately 160 people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers and maintenance personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the depot.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve depot operations, reduce costs, and enhance the overall performance of the team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management and other department heads.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in a safety-critical industry.
  • Strong understanding of engineering maintenance practices and depot operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
