Role Summary:

GTS Group Ltd is in search of a proactive and skilled Rail Depot Manager to oversee operations at our Brighton Rail Depot. This pivotal leadership role is tasked with ensuring the depot operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, managing all facets of maintenance, logistics, and personnel oversight. We welcome applications from accomplished managers in related fields such as aviation, automotive, bus, military, or marine sectors.

Key Duties:

  • Operational Management: Supervise daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Team Management: Inspire and guide a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and support personnel, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to uphold safety excellence.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Direct and monitor maintenance efforts to keep rolling stock in optimal condition, implementing preventative maintenance strategies to reduce downtime.
  • Financial Management: Formulate and oversee the depot's budget, ensuring operations are cost-effective while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodies, to facilitate seamless depot operations.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and execute improvements to operational processes to boost efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated managerial experience in the rail sector, ideally within depot or maintenance operations.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of motivating diverse teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of rail safety regulations and maintenance practices.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, adept at engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in budget management is crucial.
  • A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent professional experience is highly regarded.
