About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Octopus Energy. As a key member of our operations function, you will be responsible for the smooth running of a large field support team, managing performance, day-to-day operations, and tackling exciting new projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of team managers who oversee a large team of field support specialists working alongside field engineers installing low-carbon technology across the UK.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the operations function, including team management, operational reporting, managing third-party relationships, and industry compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and report back to the Operations Director.
  • Lead internal and external meetings with senior stakeholders.
  • Support the growth and development of the team, including recruitment and employee communication.
  • Provide operational expertise and support to the teams.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Octopus Energy's culture and customer experience, setting the tone for the team.

Requirements

  • Be a team player with excellent relationship-building skills, able to work across cultures and perspectives.
  • Have experience in delivering programs of work, be highly organized, and think practically about tasks needed to get the job done.
  • Be adaptable, positive, and proactive, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have experience in management, operations, and leadership.
  • Be able to think creatively and logically to react to changes in strategy.
  • Establish and work with a network quickly to deliver promptly, with a focus on quality and delivery.
  • Be analytical, seeking out data to inform decisions.
  • Energy industry experience is desirable but not essential.
