About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Change Programme Manager to join our team at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation – SMBC Group. As a key member of our Regulatory Compliance team, you will play a critical role in delivering and implementing regulatory change initiatives across our EMEA CPD Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Deputy Head of EMEA CPD in the successful delivery and implementation of the EMEA CPD Transformation initiative.
  • Work with stakeholders across Compliance and Financial Crime teams to deliver end-to-end change programmes.
  • Oversee Transformation initiative workstreams to ensure workstream deliverables are met in line with initiative plan, escalating risks and issues in a timely and effective manner to ensure resolution.
  • Document end-to-end processes, build business cases, business user requirements, and functional specifications.
  • Coordinate and lead the development, testing, and implementation of IT solutions and enhancements.
  • Prepare Management Information, Senior Management Reports, and regulatory reporting submissions with respect to change Compliance and Financial Crime initiatives.
  • Evaluate and assess Compliance, Monitoring, and Surveillance and Financial Crime change requests to ensure a consistent approach across EMEA CPD.
  • Partner with EMEA Compliance and Financial Crime Management to develop a consistent departmental IT strategy across EMEA.
  • Provide advice and guidance on Compliance and Financial Crime process change, control enhancements, and deployment.
  • Coordinate with Compliance Monitoring, Internal Audit to ensure timely and effective resolution of Compliance and Financial Crime departmental findings and issues.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience working in a change leadership role within a regulated entity with relevant knowledge and understanding of appropriate systems and controls frameworks.
  • End-to-end programme management experience in Financial Crime or Compliance within a financial services organisation, preferably banking.
  • Knowledge of UK and EU Compliance and Financial Crime regulations, legislation, and industry best practice.
  • Experience designing and implementing Financial Crime or Compliance programs.
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Experience with technology concepts and solutions that support the development of an effective Compliance and Financial Crime framework.
  • Experience anticipating, identifying, and managing risks in programme delivery.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory examinations.
  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities.
