Pale Hall, a country house hotel in Snowdonia, seeks an experienced Horticulturist to maintain its beautiful parkland. This is a full-time permanent position with 40 hours of work per week and a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planned and day-to-day maintenance of the property's grounds and gardens. Key tasks include gardening, groundkeeping, and landscaping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of woodland, pond, walkways, gravel areas, orchard, polytunnel, glasshouse, walled garden, drives, borders, lawns, courtyard, plant containers, and hanging baskets.
  • Assisting the Head Gardener in creating and adhering to a schedule of routine and seasonal tasks.
  • Developing and maintaining a diverse kitchen garden to produce seasonal herbs, vegetables, and edible flowers for hotel guests.
  • Carrying out routine tasks including leaf blowing, salting steps/paths/drives, administering fertiliser, and monitoring soil conditions.
  • Undertaking pruning, monitoring temperatures, and managing plant pests and diseases.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of horticulture, practical experience in maintaining a diverse garden, and excellent communication skills. They must be motivated, well-organized, and flexible.
