Lead Paediatric Orthoptist

The post holder will develop and implement an effective programme of Orthoptic care for Orthoptic patients.
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical supervision and line management of a designated specialist Orthoptic Paediatric team of both qualified orthoptists and unqualified staff.
**This will include**:
- Providing expert clinical knowledge, opinion and practice to a defined complex case load within the specialist field of orthoptics.
- Develop clinical and patient education services within the orthoptic service
- Undertake and facilitate research and audit
- To provide support to the Clinical Lead regarding advice on complex, highly specialist clinical decisions and related concerns.
- To provide highly specialist assessment for paediatric patients with ocular motility disorders and paediatric referrals with complex visual development disorders, and to be responsible for the orthoptic care planning for these patients.
- To provide highly specialised care for adult patients with ocular motility disorders
- To provide highly specialised orthoptic support to the paediatric ophthalmologist for Cardiff and Vale.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
