We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate/Postgraduate Soil Scientist to join our dynamic Soils team. The role will be based in our Cardiff office, providing specialist advice on agriculture, soils, and peat across various sectors including energy, infrastructure, mineral extraction, forestry, residential and commercial development, and waste resource management.
The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects throughout the UK, working with a dedicated and enthusiastic team. Key responsibilities include carrying out soil surveys, commissioning soil tests, processing samples, managing data, writing interpretative reports, and liaising with clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting site-based soil surveys and gathering relevant data.
- Commissioning soil tests with reputable laboratories and interpreting results.
- Managing and processing samples for laboratory analysis.
- Supporting technical reporting through data analysis and interpretation.
- Preparing and delivering high-quality reports to clients, including soil resource survey reports, soil management plans, and agricultural land classification reports.
- Collaborating with senior team members on project planning, organization, and site work.
- Contributing to multi-disciplinary projects by providing soils expertise and input.
- Liaising with clients, landowners, contractors, statutory authorities, and third parties to ensure seamless project delivery.

Requirements:- BSc or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline (Soil Science, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Horticultural Science, Geography, etc.).
- Ideal Postgraduate qualification in Soil Science or a related field.
- Awareness of environmental issues and the role of soils in the environment.
- Knowledge of field survey techniques and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Ability to travel to sites across the UK as required.
