Senior Specialist Children's Speech

We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB). The UHB serves a diverse and growing
population; it provides health care services to its local residents and also hosts a range of regional and national specialist services, including the
Children’s Hospital for Wales.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of an SLT service to a caseload of children and young people with complex
language disorders, including Developmental Language Disorder and Language Disorder associated with other known conditions.
The service will be delivered in Community Clinics and mainstream school settings. The post holder will be the lead for Language Disorders within the team, and will provide advice and support in this area to others within the team.
The post holder will take a delegated lead role within the Children’s SLT Service, providing clinical supervision and line management to more
junior SLTs and Health Care Support Workers and contributing to service review and development.
The post holder will take a lead role in profession wide projects such as the development of All Wales pathways and ensure implementation of All Wales pathways in the local service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
