Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthoptist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. As an autonomous practitioner, you will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and managing patients referred to the Orthoptic Department.

The successful candidate will have a BSc in Orthoptics or equivalent, registration with the HCPC, and a teaching qualification. You will have relevant experience in acute and community settings, with a strong background in diagnosis and management of adults and children of all ages.

You will be competent in the use of various visual field analysers and able to interpret results. Additionally, you will have experience in clinical training of Orthoptic undergraduates and other medical, optometry, and nursing staff or students.

Main Responsibilities
  • Investigate, diagnose, and manage patients referred to the Orthoptic Department
  • Work in acute and community settings, with a focus on diagnosis and management of adults and children of all ages
  • Use various visual field analysers and interpret results
  • Contribute to clinical training of Orthoptic undergraduates and other medical, optometry, and nursing staff or students
Requirements
