Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthoptist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. As an Orthoptist Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking the investigation, diagnosis, and management of patients referred to the Orthoptic Department.

The successful candidate will have a BSc in Orthoptics or equivalent, registration with the HCPC, and a teaching qualification. You will have relevant experience in acute and community settings, with responsibility for diagnosis and management of adults and children of all ages.

Main Duties
  • Investigate and diagnose patients referred to the Orthoptic Department
  • Manage patients' care, including developing treatment plans and monitoring progress
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to the clinical training of Orthoptic undergraduates and other medical, optometry, and nursing staff
Requirements
  • BSc in Orthoptics or equivalent
  • Registration with the HCPC
  • Teaching qualification
  • Relevant experience in acute and community settings
