We are a prestigious hotel seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Our hotel, The Elvetham, is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests, and we are looking for a talented individual to help us achieve this goal.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a Junior Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, and assisting in menu development and training junior kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and presentation.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, adhering to regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in menu development, creating daily specials, and maintaining menu consistency.
- Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting a positive and supportive team environment.
- Work efficiently under pressure, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Manage kitchen inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a high-end restaurant or hotel.
- A passion for food and a desire to develop culinary skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with the kitchen team.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
- A solid understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- A team player with a positive and can-do attitude, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A competitive salary of £33,000 per annum.
- A permanent, full-time contract with 40 hours per week, including weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota.
