We are seeking an experienced Medical Administrator Assistant to join our Transformation Unit, playing a crucial role in supporting clinical teams and ensuring efficient patient administration.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is £27,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Medical Administrator Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our clinical teams, including managing patients on outpatient pathways, rescheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.

You will work closely with our team leaders and patient pathway managers to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and timely communication with clinical staff.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient data and maintain accurate records in electronic health records systems.
  • Reschedule outpatient appointments as needed, ensuring adherence to waiting time targets.
  • Coordinate clinic cancellations and rescheduling, working closely with clinical staff.
  • Provide primary administrative support to consultants and clinicians, including booking follow-up appointments and correspondence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare administration processes.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A relevant qualification in customer care or business administration, such as NVQ or Apprenticeship.
